On behalf of the Board of Trustees of Stop Abuse For Everyone (SAFE) I am very pleased to announce that we have appointed Jacinta Wainwright to serve as our Chief Executive Officer.
Jacinta has extensive experience as a practitioner and executive manager in the voluntary sector. She has post graduate qualifications in psychology and domestic violence practice. She has led organisations in the development of innovative domestic violence programs in Victoria, Australia. She is a proven advocate to ensure that service system and social responses to violence promote safety and empower victims, that responsibility for violence is placed on the users of violence and on society for its prevention.
Before leaving Australia to travel and relocate to the UK Jacinta was the Chief Executive Officer of a small women’s and children’s domestic violence organisation, chair of a large regional committee for the delivery of integrated domestic violence services and sat on the Government of Victoria’s advisory committee to stop violence against women and children.
The Board continue to strive to ensure the future sustainability and development of SAFE and are confident that the appointment of Jacinta is an important part of this process. Her appointment has been enthusiastically supported by the SAFE team. Jacinta is an inspiring and motivational communicator who cares deeply about organisational development and partnership work. Most of all, she has a powerful sense of respect for and commitment to our clients and the importance of working together to respond effectively and prevent domestic violence.
